Welcome to the YA Shelf!
Confession: we love books more than people. We read hundreds of books a month, when we should be working, socializing or doing grown up things like the dishes. We buy all the new releases in young adult and new adult fiction, but are open to reading books in other genres.
We desperately want to fall in love with new characters, plots and worlds. We adore fresh magical systems, supernatural powers, and teenage protagonists finding themselves while facing impossible odds. But we are also critical readers. We like exceptional writing and story-telling, which means our reviews are fair, but critical when necessary.
There are tens of thousands of new YA books being published every year, and the handful that has the biggest marketing reach, may not actually be the most satisfying or fulfilling. While we appreciate the next mega-bestselling Twilight phenomenon as much as any other fangeek, we also enjoy finding undiscovered books and sharing them with our readers.

Disclaimer – we buy a lot of books, but we also accept books from publishers. When we get a book for free, we are sure to mention that on our reviews. Click here to check out our Review Policy.
