Bourne, a novella, picks up right where Torrent left off. Find out what has happened to men returning from the battle, gravely wounded, to the Betarrinis, fighting for the men they love, and just who is hunting them next…
My Review:
Bourne is a short story for fans of the River of Time series. I went into it thinking it would be about Lord Greco for some reason. I think because I was hoping it would be about him. He kind of got the short end of the stick at the end of Torrent, and he’s such a good guy that I want good things for him!
But this was more about Lia and Luca than anything else. It’s a bit different in that we get both Gabi and Lia’s POVs. I really like this, although it was a little confusing who was talking at times. I enjoyed Lia’s point-of-view a lot though and I’m really hoping that she’ll get more page time in the future books. Her and Luca are so cute and sweet together, and Luca just cracks me up all the time.
I’m really hoping that in future books/novellas that we get a little bit more of them, because their relationship is still in that exciting and teasing sort of stage, and it’s so much fun to read about. While I love Gabi and Marcello, it was a nice change. But mostly I’m hoping that Lord Greco will get his own story one of these days. He’s so broken and I just want to fix him!
Awesome series, great novella. Despite it’s small package Bourne has just what River of Time fans have come to expect from the full-length novels — lots of action, swoon-worthy guys, and heroines who can take care of themselves but still lean on a friendly shoulder when need be. I definitely recommend it to fans of a mixture between time-travel and 14th century historical romance. You will not be disappointed.
