My Review:
Oh Rydstrom. Sexy, sexy Rydstrom. First of all, I have to say that I absolutely love the cover of this book. The previous covers of this series have been OKAY, and they’re getting better. But I’d have to say that this is the sexiest of them all so far.
But onto the book, which I loved, of course. At this point, I’m not even sure Kresley Cole can write anything I won’t like! Sabine took some warming up to. It’s hard to tell where her motives lie and if she’s going to act nice and then turn her back on Rydstrom. Rydstrom, however, I was drooling over from the beginning.
I did really enjoy Sabine’s interactions with the other demons in the camp outside the portal, and her one sided conversations with Puck. Those was pretty funny and cute.
The story of Rydstrom and Sabine was different from the others in the series in that she is holding him captive for awhile, rather than the him chasing her (as is prominent in a lot of the other books). But that’s quickly turned around, when he escapes and keeps HER captive for awhile. It’s sort of cute, how they have that back and forth “gotcha” thing going on.
The love scenes in this one – phew! They were hott. Rydstrom knows how to make a girl drool and aside from my favorite in the series so far (Bowen), he’s easily one of my favorite males from the series.
Finally, I’m really really happy about the re-uniting going on with Rydstrom and Cadeon. They had some kiss and makeup sessions that have been long overdue and I was happy to see.
I’m still hoping that Nix gets a story here soon. Although right now she’s a really prominent background character, I find her so funny and intriguing. So we’ll see what happens there. Kresley Cole is going to have to come up with one hell of a guy for her though! Speaking of Nix, on page #392, she mentions she’s taking time off to investigate a band of immortal warriors known as Lords of the Underworld. Although I haven’t read the series yet, I wonder if this could possibly be a future crossover with Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series. Could be interesting!
But overall, this was a fantastic book, solid five stars, and I look forward to the next one!
