I thought I’d share this review here, though I originally reviewed this book on my blog nearly a year ago. The book is no longer available on Amazon, which saddens me. I have included the link to Goodreads in the event the author puts this book back on the market.

A small disclaimer: At the time this book was releasing, I requested an ARC of this book from the author through YABoundBookTours. I do not know Max Dune’s plans for this book, but until then I hope you enjoy this review.

I cannot believe how incredible this book was to read. In complete honesty, I had semi-high expectations when going into this book. After watching that epic trailer, of course I’m going to expect it. Expectations were met, if not surpassed.

Revenge is a strong emotion that can move even the toughest cookies into doing something they may or may not regret later. Lucian wants to be rid of Jack Frost. He wants to find him and get back at him. Having lost loved ones to the dreaded virus Frost unleashed, it has become personal. Lucian dreams of the day he finds Frost, but just when he is about to finish him off, like all strong dreams, it ends before getting to that point.

The relationship between Lucian and Blitzen was so heartfelt and heartbreaking. Don’t mean to give anything away, but hope you don’t easily get heart attacks the way I do. I mean for me, honestly, any friendship between animal and human (in this case, ELF) is a bond that is so different from actual friendship. Lucian’s other friendships are wonderful as well, but I was totally won over with Blitzen.

This book is just epic. There is no other word I can think of that would be better describing it. From the first chapter, to the very last page, it is an adventure. The characters are dynamic. The action sequences kept me on edge. It holds gentle moments as well.
