As an ancient Sumerian god, Sin was one of the most powerful among his pantheon. . . Until the night Artemis brutally stole his godhood and left him for dead. For millennia, this ex-god turned Dark-Hunter has dreamed only of regaining his powers and seeking revenge on Artemis. If only life were that simple.Unfortunately he has bigger fish–or in Sin’s case–demons, to fry. The lethal gallu that were buried by his pantheon are now stirring and they are hungry for human flesh. Their goal is to destroy mankind and anyone else who gets in their way. Sin is the only one who can stop them–that is if a certain woman doesn’t kill him first. Unfortunately, Sin discovers that now he must rely on her or witness an annihilation of biblical proportions. Enemies have always made strange bedfellows, but never more so than when the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Now a man who knows only betrayal must trust the one person most likely to hand him to the demons. Artemis may have stolen his godhood, but this one has stolen his heart. The only question is will she keep it or feed it to the ones who want him dead?
My Review:

I was very happy to see that Devil May Cry lived more up to my expectations for the series after the last two books were a little bit disappointing. We’re back to the Dark-Hunters rather than the Dream-Hunters. But this time is a little bit different because Sin isn’t exactly a Dark-Hunter but a god who has had most of his powers stolen from him. He’s fighting a different faction of villains known as the gallu demons. These are demons that not very many people know about and only Sin (and sometimes Ash) have been fighting.

I was also happy and surprised to see that this is Kat’s book as well. I wasn’t expecting to learn her story until later on in the series but I was happy because she is connected to Artemus (as we’ve learned in previous books) so we got to learn more about Ash as well and that’s always a bonus. This was probably one of my favorite things about this book. Although I did love Kat and Sin’s story we also got a lot of Ash in this book, which was awesome.

Aside from the love story and tidbits of Ash, it was interesting to see a new type of villain come to the page and I’ll be curious to see where they come into play in the future books because they definitely seem like they could cause some major damage. But down the line enemies might just become friends because a few Daimons in this book were actually on the good side, believe it or not. I was surprised by that but actually like it because it goes to show you that what you are doesn’t make you a bad person but rather the choices you make.

Overall I definitely was happy with this book and I’m excited to only have two more books before I get to read Ash’s full story! Unfortunately they’re Dream-Hunter books, but hopefully I’ll like them better than the first Dream-Hunter book. :)
