My Review:

Like with Divergent, Insurgent kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It’s action-packed, intriguing, and full of surprises around every corner. There’s really no going wrong with the series. It’s just pure good entertainment.

Now that the factions are starting to fall to pieces, Tris, Tobias, and those who at least appear to be allies must find a way to fight for their freedoms while keeping as many people alive as possible. Unexpected allies and unforeseen enemies arise to make their mission even more challenging along the way. But Tris holds true to herself, making sure the decisions she makes are keeping her friends safe.

The one thing I wish I would’ve done was re-read Divergent before going into this one. There were so many things I forgot about. There is a pretty large cast in this series and at times I had trouble remembering what people did in the past, if they used to be friends, etc. Even once I thought I figured it out, I still found myself a bit disoriented in regards to who is truly on Tris’ side or not. I think it was sort of meant to be that way, but everyone seemed to be jumping back and forth so it was difficult to keep track after awhile.

But other than that the book was great. The story is so easy to get lost in and I love that we’ve gotten to the meat of the issues already by midway through this book. Some dystopians seem to piddle along and no war, rebellion or anything interesting seems to happen until the last book. But this series is definitely not that. Lots of action, rebellion, and it’s really fast paced. I recommend reading it on the weekend so you can just sit down and enjoy it in it’s entirety because you probably won’t want to put it down.

Overall, I loved the book and I still love this series. I can’t wait for the next one. I’m not sure if this is going to be a trilogy or if there will be more than the next one left. Either way I’ll be reading. The ending for this one….was very unexpected for me, but not totally uncalled for. I am very curious to see where that goes. So interesting!
