And for one of them, she could be the match that leads to their soul’s salvation. Now it’s a desperate race against time to save Jordan and prevent Eryx’s haunting eyes from discovering her true identity.A thrilling story of romance, danger, and intrigue, THE MEPHISTO KISS continues the marvelous mythology that began in THE MEPHISTO COVENANT.
My Review:

The Mephisto Kiss picks up about a year after The Mephisto Covenant ended. In this one, the President’s daughter, Jordan, is discovered to be an Anabo and the Mephisto brothers (and Sasha) must get to her before the evil Eryx does first. Like with the first book, this series reads more like a Young Adult Paranormal Romance because each brother will get his own book and the story revolves more around the romance than anything else.

This book definitely started off strong and if you were a fan of The Mephisto Covenant then you will more than likely enjoy it as well. Even though the story revolves a lot around the romance, the bigger war going on with Eryx is also very fascinating and I love the mythology mix that Trinity Faegen has created with this series. It relies a lot on Christian beliefs with a paranormal twist. It’s hard to explain without giving the whole thing away, but I think it’s a really interesting combination that I’ve never seen before.

Where the book fell below four stars for me was near the end. The story seemed to be heading in a particular direction and then a twist in the plot kind of came out of nowhere and I wasn’t really a fan of where it went.

That Jordan would have given into Eryx’s persuasions just didn’t fit with her character. She seemed to be constantly on guard and overall a strong person throughout the whole book and that she let him deceive her in the end kind of left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Not only that but the results didn’t make sense to me. She agrees to kiss him and therefore has sold her soul to him? I didn’t see how that fit. Also, if that was the case then how were her and Key brought back? The last thirty pages or so just didn’t make any sense to me and I really kind of wish the book didn’t go in that direction or was clearer about the whys and hows.

Aside from the end though the rest of the book was really good. I loved Key even though he’s a lot more of an introvert than Jax was. He seems to have a harder time opening up to Jordan than Jax did with Sasha. But I could kind of appreciate his reasons for being that way and I really felt for him. He’s just a good person.

Overall this is a really unique and interesting series. I’ve not read anything like it before and if you’re a fan of YA Paranormal Romance then I’d definitely recommend it. The stories greatly rely on character and relationship building, while the larger war is more in the background so if you like that kind of thing then you’d probably like these books.
