Calla has always welcomed war. But now that the final battle is upon her, there’s more at stake than fighting. There’s saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay’s wrath. There’s keeping Ansel safe, even if he’s been branded a traitor. There’s proving herself as the pack’s alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and ridding the world of the Keepers’ magic once and for all. And then there’s deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out alive, that is.In the final installment of the Nightshade trilogy, New York Times bestselling author Andrea Cremer creates a novel with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until its final pages. A dynamic end to this breathtaking trilogy.
My Review:

Bloodrose was quite a ride from start to finish. It had a fast pace to it, and of course since this is the end *gasp*, lots of big stuff happened and a ton of action given the war that’s going on and all.

In some ways, this was my favorite book in the series. I’m sure some people will hate the ending, and while I certainly didn’t love everything about it, it was really unique and unexpected in a lot of ways. So I have to hand it to Andrea Cremer for giving us a totally unpredictable ending, but at the same time and ending that didn’t come out of left field. It worked in a lot of was and I thought it was fitting.

Of course, when it comes to the love triangle, I’m not going to even talk about it other than to say I’m not going to talk about it. If you’ve read any of my other reviews for the Nightshade series (or even if you look in my sidebar at “My Teams” ——>) then you’ll know who I’ve been rooting for since book one. So anything I say, even if it’s just feelings about how that part of the story ended, will be a spoiler. Although there’s so much I want to say, I’ll resist!

Well…or at least warn you not to read my spoiler-esk feelings if you haven’t read the book yet:

WAAAAAAAA!!!!! Stupid, stupid stupid. I’m so mad. I knew one of them had to die in order for things to work out since they were both “good guys” I guess, even though I’ve never really like Shay. But of course it had to be poor Ren. My poor sweet Ren. Calla was truly stupid in that she couldn’t see how good of a guy she had right in front of her the whole time!

Also, let me just say that it’s a very strange feeling for me to be on the losing team here. I normally end up falling for the guy who ultimately gets the girl. But in this series *shakes head*, I have to say that Cremer was wrong. Calla belonged with Ren and that’s all there is to it.

Okay I’m done ranting, back to the review! lol

Overall, I liked the book and I think it stands as my favorite. But, like with the others in the series it didn’t grab hold of me and not let go. It’s not my favorite series, but it still has it’s moments and I’m glad to have been apart of the world for a little while. If you’re a fan of the series I definitely recommend picking this one up to gain closure and hear how the story finally ends.
