My Review:

I’m pretty sure that Kresley Cole doesn’t know how to write a book I don’t like. At this point, it’s pretty impressive that going into book #9, I’m still squealing like a school girl when I get to read the next one. She has hit the nail on the head with this series, and it’s only getting better and better!

This book, sort of like the last book, took place over the span of the other books (starting from “A Hunger Like No Other”). Although it wasn’t as obvious as “Untouchable” (in the “Deep Kiss of Winter” anthology), it was still pleasing to a reader who so loves to hear about characters from the previous books. So this one spanned a little over a year. However, most of that time was off the page because Lucia and her crazy self was running from Garreth during that time. Are you crazy woman?!?

Garreth is….*sigh*….wonderful. Kresley Cole sure does do a fantastic job with her werewolves because I always find them so sexy in her books, whereas in other books I’m not such a fan. But Garreth is extremely sexy, let’s get that straight. Not only that, but he’s so sweet. Of course, he’s a Lykae, so he has his macho-he-man moments. But, for example — the butterfly? Could he get any cuter? :)

Lucia I liked for most of the book, up until right after their mating. I won’t delve into details to prevent spoilers for the one person on earth who hasn’t already read this. But, needless to say she was a real bitch to Garreth afterward and he didn’t deserve it at all. But other than that, I liked her. I think there could have been more honesty between them, but I could kind of understand why she would hold some of her secrets back and her reasoning behind it.

Also, the ending was crazy in this one. Again, I won’t get into details, but let’s just say it left off with quite a cliffhanger. Now, Kresley Cole has always been good and overlapping her novels and prepping for the next one in previous books. But this was an all-out cliffhanger and she hasn’t done that yet. But it’s certainly interesting and I’ll be looking forward to see what develops from it. However, for all those out there who love a HEA and knows that Cole delivers in each of her books, I will tell you she doesn’t disappoint when it comes to Garreth and Lucia. But…other things occur. I will say no more! :)

Overall, another fantastic read. I truly cannot get enough of this series and will be mourning it’s loss when it’s finally over. But I’m pretty sure there’s still a lot more to come. I just love how under all the romance she manages to have a solid and interesting underlying story with the Accession and this book pushes it more in the direction of the overall story in the series than ever before. This was a fantastic read complete with a sexy-ass Lykae, action packed pages, and let’s not forget sexual tension you can cut with a knife! Can’t wait for the next one!
