What if the characters in a vampire novel left their world–and came into yours?
Amy is in love with someone who doesn’t exist: Alexander Banks, the dashing hero in a popular series of vampire novels. Then one night, Amy meets a boy who bears an eerie resemblance to Alexander. In fact, he IS Alexander, who has escaped from the pages of the book and is in hot pursuit of a wicked vampire named Vigo. Together, Amy and Alexander set out to track Vigo and learn how and why Alexander crossed over. But when she and Alexander begin to fall for each other, Amy wonders if she even wants him to ever return to the realm of fiction.
My Review:
When I first saw the description for this book, I knew I had to get my hands on it. How many times have I “fallen in love” with a character from one of the books I’ve read. I know we all become attached to some characters *ahem* Bones *ahem* more than others. So, I knew I had to pick this up, and I was not disappointed!
What surprised me the most was how light and feel good this novel was. The cover kind of makes you think it’ll be a little bit darker. But, despite some of the darker parts, it was mostly just light and fun and just a perfect summer read. It’s also pretty short, but I felt like the story was well-told and didn’t leave anything out.
I liked Alexander and Amy and I felt like their relationship was well developed. I also wasn’t sure how the author would pull off Alexander’s character popping out of the book, but it was done really well and I loved the explanation for it, very creative!
Overall, this was seriously just a really cute book and I’d definitely recommend it those who love Young Adult Paranormal, as well as anyone out there who has fallen for a character or two in their time.
